Eydís is a filmmaker from Iceland.

Her journey in the world of cinema took a turn with "Chrysalis," a short film that received a nomination for the Icelandic Academy Awards, The Edda Award, in 2023. This cool little film, shot on 16mm and Super 16mm, stands out with its mix of animation and the captivating music of Hildur Guðnadóttir (Joker, Chernobyl)

Her films are influenced by the works of cinematic legends such as David Lynch, Agnés Varda, Maya Deren, Antonioni, Tarkovsky, and Alejandro Jodorowsky, whose unique styles resonate in her storytelling approach.

Eydís's artistic journey began to take shape with her first short film, "Islandia," in 2019, which also received a nomination for the Icelandic, Academy Awards.

Eydís has a diverse career in the entertainment industry. She's been involved in film, TV, advertising, and theater productions, both in Iceland and internationally.

In 2023, Eydís embarked on an innovative collaboration with the gifted musician and composer Arngerður Árnadóttir on a project named LOKK, a creative synergy between music composers and filmmakers, under her production company Anima Productions.

Eydís studied writing and directing at the Icelandic Film School and furthered her education at the Film and Television School of the Academy of Arts in Prague, FAMU.  She even dived into entrepreneurship at the University in Reykjavík. Her work has taken her to places like Berlin, Paris, and Reykjavík.

Right now, Eydís is busy working on a new TV series, thanks to a screenwriting grant she was granted from the Icelandic film fund in 2024.
